The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) Class of 2005 Alumni Association proudly celebrates two outstanding students whose academic performances have distinguished them as the best graduating male and female students in the 2024/2025 academic session during the University’s 17th Convocation held yesterday 22nd of April, 2025 for the Award of First Degree. Komolafe Teslim Gbolahan, with matriculation number 193231, emerged as the Best Graduating Male Student with a CGPA of 4.77 (First Class Honours), while Babalola Pipelore Esther, matriculation number 194886, earned the title of Best Graduating Female Student with a CGPA of 4.19 (Second Class Upper Division) both from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso. Their accomplishments are a source of pride and inspiration to both their peers and the alumni community, affirming the enduring tradition of excellence in the department.

Registered formally with Corporate Affairs Commission in 2022, the LAUTECH EEE Class ’05 Alumni Association has continued to live out its commitment to unity, development, and purposeful giving. The association’s core objectives include fostering camaraderie among its members, promoting the welfare and professional growth of alumni, and supporting the academic and infrastructural development of the department. These ideals are reflected in the association’s tangible impact within the university community. Notably, the association presented the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department with an Antenna System Trainer Kit in 2024 and instituted an annual prize for the best graduating male and female students, a tradition that began in the 2023/2024 academic session. In addition, a structured welfare framework ensures that members are supported during times of need and celebrated in moments of joy.

These efforts are aligned with several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4, which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education; SDG 5, promoting gender equality, SDG 8, which advocates for decent work and economic growth; and SDG 17, which emphasizes partnerships for sustainable development. Through its initiatives, the LAUTECH EEE Class ’05 Alumni Association, under the distinguished leadership of Dr. Rabiu Emmanuel Oluwatosin, has continued to make meaningful contributions that transcend individual success, reaching into the heart of community development and national progress.

As members of the association prepare to celebrate 20 years since graduation this year, there is a shared sense of pride in the journey so far and a renewed call to build a stronger legacy. The achievements of Komolafe Teslim Gbolahan and Babalola Pipelore Esther serve as timely reminders of the power of diligence and the role that mentorship, infrastructure, and alumni support can play in shaping the future of young scholars. Hence, both have been rewarded handsomely with cash prize to celebrate their brilliant performances. We therefore extend a hearty congratulations to the awardees and encourage them to keep raising the bar.

We also use this moment to call on all members to remain united in purpose, committed to the association’s goals, and generous in giving back to the institution that laid the foundation for many of our career journeys. As we count down to our 20th anniversary coming up later this year, may our unity and contributions continue to be a shining light for those coming after us. We congratulate our Alma Mater on the occasion of the 35th Founder’s Day Anniversary today 23rd April 2025 at the Grand Finale of the 17th Convocation Ceremonies. We wish the school greater successes and accomplishments in the years ahead.
