"16 and Pregnant" Star Whitney Purvis Given Bond After Being Charged with Involuntarily Manslaughter & More: Details

“Someone spring me from the clink!”

can be released from jail, a judge ruled on Thursday— if the former  star can bond herself out.

During a court hearing, a judge set Whitney’s bond for $15,000, but the former  star remains behind bars in a Georgia jail as of press time, can confirm. Whitney was previously denied bond following her arrest on July 7 for involuntary manslaughter, “use of communication facility in commission of a felony involving controlled substances” and intending to distribute a controlled substance. On July 8, Whitney filed a petition for a “reasonable” bond to be set for her, but has remained behind bars since then.

Even if Whitney does manage to bond herself out, she will have to follow a strict set of guidelines after her release.

As The Ashley previously told you, Whitney— who appeared on the first season of “16 and Pregnant” alongside  stars like  and — received the charges after allegedly distributing Tranq— a drug that contains a combination of fentanyl and xylazine— to a friend of hers, John Mark Harris, who died in February after taking the drug.

As part of her bond conditions, a judge has ruled that Whitney is not allowed to have direct or indirect contact with John Mark’s family, and must continue to live at an agreed-upon location.

In addition, Whitney is not allowed to consume any alcohol, illegal drugs or medications she doesn’t have a prescription for. It was previously reported that Whit had been detoxing while behind bars, and her bond conditions stipulate that she continue to receive treatment at Women’s Outreach and submit to monthly drug screenings, which she must shell out the money for herself.

Although Whitney is not required to wear an ankle monitor to track her location, she is going to have to be in the house by 7 p.m. every night until 7 a.m. She is allowed to have access to the Internet and social media, though.

“Photo filters, I’m comin’ back to ya!”

The judge put no restrictions on Whitney being around children, so she can presumably see her sons, River (whose father is Whitney’s ex .) and Collin (who is reportedly in foster care currently.) As The Ashley previously reported, Whitney and Weston’s eldest son, Weston Jr., tragically passed away in June at the age of 16. At the time of Weston Jr.’s death, Whitney had not seen him or his brother in several years and did not have custody of either boy.

People was the first to report news of Whitney being granted bond.

The Ashley will update this story when more info is available…

  • Omfg. The little one is in foster care. I know this could be speculation but I hope somehow the other 2 kids dad, Weston sr, gets custody of the little one although he isn’t his child.

  • it’s so sad to hear that her youngest is in foster care and nobody else in that family has their sh!t together enough to take care of him, i hope he’s able to get adopted to a loving family and doesn’t have to continue getting traumatized
