15-year-old dies after 2 minors fall through ice at Ogden pond

OGDEN, Utah — Search and rescue teams found a child who fell through the ice while fishing at a pond in Ogden and was in the water for over two hours.

Ogden Police said that around 4:30 p.m., two "juveniles," a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, fell through the ice at Glasmann Pond. The 14-year-old was rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Rescuers later found the second victim and transported them to the hospital where they later died.

Ogden Police Lt. John Cox said the search and rescue crew consisted of members of the Ogden Fire Department, Weber County Sheriff's Office, and Washington Terrace Police Department.
