10 Best Star Wars Comics That Filled Gaps Between Movies
Star Wars media can extend hundreds of years before the films or even forward into the future, though some of the best comics occur between films.
The animated series The Bad Batch introduced Omega as a young female Jango Fett clone, who joined forces with Clone Force 99 after the end of the Clone Wars. This marked them as outlaws, forcing them into a new life as soldiers of fortune.

The Acolyte was a tale from the final days of the High Republic era, as the Sith prepared to begin their return from the shadows. The story followed Mae and Osha, two twins created by Force witchcraft, as well as Osha's Jedi Master, Sol. There were echoes of Qui-Gon Jinn's faith in Anakin Skywalker in Sol's tragic story.
Unfortunately, The Acolyte was canceled after its first season, leaving its story unfinished. A prequel to The Acolyte could explore Sol's backstory and depict more of the High Republic era. While The Acolyte divided fan opinion, Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae's performance as Sol was a highlight.

The Star Wars sequel trilogy introduced John Boyega's Finn, a Stormtrooper who defected from the First Order and joined the Resistance. Scenes in which Finn used Luke Skywalker's blue lightsaber became the focus of trailers and poster. However, when The Force Awakens arrived in theaters, this was all revealed to be a misdirection. While Finn used a lightsaber in the movie, he was not Force-sensitive, with Daisy Ridley's Rey revealed as the franchise's next true Jedi hero.
A Star Wars movie following Daisy Ridley's Rey as she establishes a new Jedi Order was announced at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023. The movie will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and written by George Nolfi.
Finn played a strong supporting role throughout the sequel trilogy, but many Star Wars fans were disappointed he never became a Jedi. With Rey now confirmed to be building a new Jedi Order in an upcoming Star Wars movie, there could be room for Finn to return as a Jedi, finally delivering on the squandered promise of The Force Awakens.
