Hazaribag: One 17-year-old Shaurya Pratap drowned in a pond at Mahudi village of Chouparan block on Saturday. Relatives said he had gone to the village pond with his friends. While bathing in the pond, he could not judge the depth and got a serious injury on his forehead due to which he started drowning.

People present on the spot raised an alarm. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The villagers asked the administration to install warning boards on the banks of ponds during the rainy season so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
