Four of Haryana family die in car crash in Dausa
Jaipur: Four members of a Haryana family, including three women, on way to Mehandipur Balaji temple in Rajasthan's Dausa died early Saturday when their car slammed into a truck that had been stopped allegedly for RTO inspection. The deceased were identified as Pramila Devi, 40, her daughter Sakshi, 16, her son Deepanshu, 20, and a relative, Rajbala Jat, 60. All were residents of Kheri Saad village in Rohtak district of Haryana. According to police, Deepanshu, who was driving, had recently started working in a private company. His father Rajendra Rao died only three months ago.So severe was the impact of the crash that happened around 1am on Jaipur-Agra Highway near RTO office outside the Dausa collectorate that the car was wedged under the rear of the canter truck, leaving the occupants trapped. Rescue workers laboured for nearly an hour to extricate the severely damaged vehicle and retrieve the bodies. The victims were taken to Dausa district hospital, where doctors declared all four dead on arrival. The family was travelling in three vehicles for the Mehandipur Balaji pilgrimage. While two vehicles with twelve other family members reached the destination safely, Deepanshu lost his way and ended up in Dausa instead of taking the correct route through Mahuwa.
The accident occurred while he was trying to return to Mehandipur Balaji from the Dausa collectorate area.Traffic on the busy highway was halted briefly before being cleared once the damaged vehicles were removed. Locals pointed out that this stretch of the highway had seen repeated accidents due to RTO checks that require heavy vehicles to stop along the roadside.
