Yemi Ayebo: Olamide has yet to compensate me for using my name in his song - TheCable Lifestyle
The track was featured on Olamide’s acclaimed album ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’.
In a recent that went viral, Yemi shared that while he was initially thrilled to hear his name in songs and skits, Fuji star Pasuma was the one who insisted he deserved compensation.
The actor revealed that Pasuma connected him with Olamide after questioning whether the rapper had settled him for the name usage.
According to Yemi, Olamide instructed him to get his contact details from Pasuma, but all attempts to reach the rapper afterward were unsuccessful.
“Olamide was the first to use my name in his song, and I was so happy. My name is blessed by God, that is why both Davido, Olamide and others including skit makers are using it,” he said.
“Pasuma said Yemo did Olamide settle you for singing with your name? And I told him no, I have never even seen him before not to talk of him settling me. We do not have each other’s contact.
“And immediately Pasuma picked up his phone and called him that I came to report him. Olamide told Pasuma to give me the phone so he could speak with me. That was the first time we spoke and he told me to collect his number from Pasuma and call him.
“Pasuma gave me his number and I called Olamide for more than six months, he did not pick my calls, I messaged him and he did not reply and I left him alone.”
