The 2025 Met Gala, celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," featured both stunning fashion and some misses. Co-chairs Colman Domingo and Lewis Hamilton brought the theme to life, but several attendees' ensembles failed to impress.

Pharrell Williams, also a co-chair, underwhelmed in a simple white jacket and black slacks, while Kim Kardashian's all-black leather dress and fedora didn't stand out amidst bolder looks.

Gustav Magnar Witzøe's cream-colored suit with a latex overcoat, wide-brimmed hat, and Tabi boots appeared ill-fitting, and the briefcase of roses looked like a costume prop. Maya Hawke's custom Prada pink dress and tan cape seemed unrelated to the theme.

Sadie Sink's black ball gown had a gothic feel that clashed with the theme, and the dress appeared to overwhelm her. Anne Hathaway's Carolina Herrera ensemble, consisting of a white dress shirt and bedazzled black-and-white striped skirt, lacked the necessary impact.

Pamela Anderson's crystal-covered Tory Burch gown, though a risk, seemed out of her comfort zone. Heidi Klum played it too safe in a simple black dress that could have benefited from bolder accessories.

Savannah James' Thom Browne gown, while on-theme with its suit-jacket bodice and pinstripes, suffered from a poorly tailored corset. Lorde's Thom Browne matching set, reminiscent of mid-aughts bandage dresses, felt outdated, and tailored pants might have improved the look.

Joe Burrow's baggy suit, open collar, creased pants, and baby-blue Gucci sneakers were inappropriate for an event celebrating tailoring. Omar Apollo's Wales Bonner suit, featuring a cropped jacket, straight trousers, and a leopard-print shirt, clashed with his yellow hair streaks.

Gayle King's hot-pink halter dress, though incorporating menswear elements, was dated by its peplum waist, pink plaid, and floral appliques. Hailey Bieber's simple black suit jacket and tights lacked the color and fun of dandyism. Kendall Jenner's tailored Torishéju suit jacket and gray skirt felt more corporate than dandyish and would have been better in a pastel tone.
