Augustina Adoma has been accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend after seeing him with another woman
The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of 29-year-old Augustina Adoma, who is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend after seeing him with another woman in Sowutuom, a suburb of Accra.
According to a police statement issued on July 2, 2025, Augustina Adoma allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Emmanuel Otabil, when he went to retrieve his mobile phone, which she had reportedly seized after the encounter.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Adoma, who had previously been in a relationship with Otabil, a driver, visited his residence unannounced on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at about 9:00 a.m.
Upon seeing Otabil with another woman, she allegedly poured a bucket of water on them and took his Samsung mobile phone before leaving.
Later the same day, around 4:00 pm, the suspect reportedly returned to Otabil's residence in his absence.
Using a duplicate key, she allegedly gained access to his kiosk and set fire to several items, including a mattress, carpet, blankets, and bedsheets.
A confrontation ensued later that evening when Otabil confronted Adoma about the incident and demanded the return of his phone.
During the altercation, Adoma allegedly took a knife belonging to an orange seller and stabbed Otabil in the left side of his chest.
Otabil was rushed to the University of Ghana Hospital, where he is currently admitted and responding to treatment.
