The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has reiterated that the President John Dramani Mahama-led government is building an educational system that leaves no learner behind.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister at the Relief and Aid International Scholarship Awards Ceremony, the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, stated that the gathering is not just a celebration of academic excellence but a reaffirmation of a collective commitment to equitable access to quality education.

“The theme, ‘Beyond the Aid, Unveiling the Future,’ speaks powerfully to the need for partnerships and innovation that go beyond temporary support to build long-term resilience and opportunity for our youth.

“Relief and Aid International has consistently demonstrated that non-governmental actors are indispensable in driving community development and educational empowerment,” Dr. Apaak stated.

He noted that the scholarship interventions by Relief and Aid International are not only removing financial barriers but also igniting hope, unlocking potential, and fostering service-oriented leadership in the next generation.

“This aligns closely with the Government of Ghana’s education agenda: to provide inclusive, equitable, and relevant education that empowers every Ghanaian to thrive in a knowledge-based economy. From Free SHS to technical and vocational education reforms, from curriculum transformation to teacher development, we are building a system that leaves no learner behind,” Dr. Apaak emphasized.

He continued: “I am particularly heartened to learn that among today’s awardees are future doctors, nurses, engineers, educators, and innovators. We are proud of you, and we urge you to see this support not only as a reward but as a responsibility—to serve, to lead, and to uplift others.”

He added, “As we ‘unveil the future,’ let us continue to invest in partnerships that combine government policy with civil society innovation.”

According to him, the Ministry of Education is open to further engagement with Relief and Aid International on knowledge sharing, research, and targeted support that strengthens learning outcomes, especially at the community level.
