Usyk vs. Dubois Unification Bout Set for July 19

Oleksandr Usyk's heavyweight unification fight against Britain's Daniel Dubois is confirmed for July 19 at Wembley. Usyk, the current WBA, WBO, and WBC champion, will face Dubois, who was upgraded to IBF champion after Usyk vacated the IBF belt to rematch Tyson Fury in December 2024.
The two fighters previously met in 2023, where Usyk secured a ninth-round stoppage victory. However, Dubois' camp contested a fifth-round knockdown, claiming it was a low blow, leading to considerable anger and controversy. Dubois is eager for a rematch, asserting that he was wrongly denied victory in their first encounter due to the referee's decision.
"This is the fight I wanted and demanded and now I get my chance for revenge against Oleksandr Usyk," Dubois stated. He further added, "I should have won the first fight and was denied by the judgement of the referee, so I will make no mistake this time around in front of my people at the national stadium in my home city. I am a superior and more dangerous fighter now and Usyk will find this out for himself on July 19."
Usyk, who is 38 years old, boasts an undefeated record of 23 professional wins and also held the undisputed cruiserweight world championship. Reflecting on the upcoming fight, Usyk expressed gratitude, saying, "I'm grateful to God for the opportunity to once again fight for the undisputed championship. Thank you, Daniel, for taking care of my IBF belt — now I want it back."
A press conference featuring both fighters is scheduled for Tuesday, heightening anticipation for the highly anticipated rematch.
