Chatham Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino named Brian Baudinet as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Chatham University.

“We are very proud of our basketball program and feel confident that Coach Baudinet, along with the people in our program, will continue the success we have had both on and off the court,” Trevino shared. “I am excited to watch our team perform next season.”

Baudinet, who becomes the third head coach in program history, joins Chatham after serving as assistant coach at UMBC since 2022.

“I want to thank Leonard Trevino and the Chatham University administration for this great opportunity,” Baudinet said. “I am very excited to be the next head coach of the Chatham basketball program. I look forward to building off the recent success of the program and helping student-athletes achieve to a high level both academically and athletically.”

Prior to UMBC, Baudinet was the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach and Assistant Director of Admissions at Canterbury School in New Milford, Connecticut. In four seasons at Canterbury, he tallied a record of 87-19, including a 32-3 record in the Tri-State League, and received NEPSAC Class B Coach of the Year honors in 2018-19 and 2019-20.

Baudinet was an assistant coach at Duquesne University from 2014-2017, where he assisted in recruiting, player development and strength and conditioning programs. He helped the Dukes reach 17 wins in a season for just the seventh time in  40-season span.

Baudinet also brings NBA affiliate experience to Chatham, having served as Assistant Coach and Video Analyst with the Tulsa 66ers, the G-League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder. In Tulsa, Baudinet created individual player development plans and coached NBA players like Andre Roberson, Reggie Williams, Dominic McGuire, Mustafa Shakur, Grant Jarrett, Ben Uzoh and Larry Owens.

Baudinet was a four-year member of the UMass Amherst baseball program, where he was a two-time captain and earned Honorable Mention All-A10 honors during his senior season. He graduated from UMass Amherst in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
