Kumasi, June 25, GNA – In response to the increasing demand for outbound travel to the United Kingdom (UK), VFS Global, a leading international provider of visa outsourcing and technology services, will start operations in Kumasi from Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The new centre, located in the Ashanti Regional capital, complements the ultra-modern UK Visa Application Centre in Accra, which has been operational since October 2024.

With this addition, travelers in and around Kumasi can now book appointments to submit their UK visa applications at the newly established Premium Application Centre, significantly improving access and convenience.

The UK remains a highly sought-after destination for African travelers, with Ghana ranking among the top ten nationalities applying for UK visit visas.

This development was announced in a statement signed by Mr. Dominick Andoh, Public and Media Relations Coordinator for VFS Global (Ghana and Angola), and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi.

According to the statement, applicants submitting documents and enrolling in biometrics at the Premium Centre will benefit from a range of value-added services.

These include document upload assistance, real-time notifications on application status, and courier return of documents.

Additionally, applicants may opt for the “Keep My Passport While Applying” service through the VFS Global website.

This option allows them to retain their passports after submission and biometric enrollment, only returning them when a decision has been made.

Mr. Keith McMahon, Chargé d’Affaires at the British High Commission, welcomed the expansion of UK visa services beyond Accra, noting its importance to bilateral relations.

“We are delighted to expand UK visa application services to customers outside Accra. Kumasi and the Ashanti Region are vital to the UK-Ghana partnership, and we hope to welcome more travelers from Ghana to the UK,” he said.

Mr. Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa for VFS Global, assured that clients in Kumasi will experience the same level of comfort, convenience, and top-tier service as those in Accra.
