(IN SHORT)
(PRESS RELEASE) BELFAST, 2025-May-2 — /Travel PR News/ — Belfast City Airport is pleased to announce that its Community Fund is now open for applications across Greater Belfast, Ards, and North Down. Local community groups, charities, schools, sports teams, and other organizations are invited to apply for funding until May 23, 2025.
Since its establishment in 2009, Belfast City Airport’s Community Fund has awarded more than £656,000 to over 231 projects that positively impact the local community. The Fund continues to support initiatives in areas such as education, sustainability, social inclusion, and health and wellbeing.
Charlotte Clarke, Community Fund Ambassador at Belfast City Airport, said: “At Belfast City Airport, we are committed to supporting the causes that matter most to our city. We believe in making a tangible difference in the communities we serve, and through our Community Fund, we’ve had the privilege of backing hundreds of impactful projects. Our role as a responsible neighbor is central to who we are, and we’re proud to invest in initiatives that make Belfast, Ards, and North Down a better place for everyone.”
Recent beneficiaries of the fund include The Conservation Volunteers, which delivered a biodiversity project in schools across Belfast; Kirkubbin Integrated Primary School, which created a sensory room for its students; and People’s Kitchen, which used the funding to assist homeless individuals in the local area.
Charlotte added, “We’re excited to continue helping local programs grow and thrive, and we encourage organizations with meaningful projects to apply. This fund reflects our long-term commitment to building stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities.”
