Ticket Prices For Fever-Sky Game Prove Angel Reese Was Wrong

Published 1 day ago2 minute read

The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky will renew their rivalry on Saturday night at the United Center. Unfortunately, Caitlin Clark won't suit up for this game due to a quad injury.

It's no secret that fans wanted Clark on the floor for tonight's game. Her rivalry with Angel Reese dates back to the Iowa-LSU national championship game in 2023. When these two All-Stars met earlier this season, Clark and Reese nearly got into a heated altercation because of a hard foul.

Most people have given Clark all the credit for making women's basketball as popular as it today. Reese, however, doesn't agree with that. During the 2024 season, she told reporters that people are also watching the WNBA because of her too.

"People are talking about women's basketball, you never would think they'd be talking about women's basketball," Reese told reporters. "People are pulling up to games. We got celebrities coming to games and sold-out arenas just because of one single game. Just looking at that, I'll take that role. I'll take the bad guy role, and I'll continue to take that on and be that for my teammates. I know I'll go down in history. I'll look back in 20 years and be like, the reason why we're watching women's basketball is not just because of one person. It's because of me, too. I want y'all to realize that."

Judging by the ticket prices for Saturday's game, that last statement that Reese made isn't true.

Before it was confirmed that Clark would miss this game, the get-in price on June 7 was $86. On May 27, TickPick reported that tickets dropped to as low as $25.

With tipoff just hours away, ticket prices for the Fever-Sky game have reached a new low.

As of right now, there are tickets for Saturday's game priced at $13 on SeatGeek. StubHub, meanwhile has a few tickets available for as low as $7.

Whether Reese likes it or not, Clark is the biggest draw the WNBA has by a mile.

If Reese was considered a box office athlete like Clark, why would prices drop as much as they have? We all know tickets wouldn't cost $7 if Clark was cleared to play.
