Draymond Green Criticizes Chicago Sky's Performance After Blowout Loss

With the NBA season concluded for the Golden State Warriors, four-time All-Star and former Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green, has found himself with additional time to follow other basketball leagues, including the WNBA. Green recently turned his attention to a Saturday night game featuring the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever, and he was notably displeased with the home team's display.

The Chicago Sky, featuring Angel Reese, suffered a significant and described as "utterly humiliating" 79-52 defeat at home against their rivals, the Indiana Fever. This loss was particularly stark as the Fever were playing without their star player, the injured Caitlin Clark. Following the game, Draymond Green took to the social media platform Threads to express his candid opinion.

"The Sky play a very bad brand of basketball," Green posted, staying true to his reputation for not mincing words. His assessment pointed to what he viewed as a fundamentally flawed approach by the Chicago team. The performance on Saturday night seemed to validate Green's critique, as the Sky struggled significantly on both ends of the court.

Offensively, the Chicago Sky's efforts were particularly lackluster. Not a single player on the team managed to score in double figures, and their collective shooting accuracy was a mere 32.1%. Defensively, they also failed to impress, allowing Indiana Fever players like Kelsey Mitchell, who contributed 17 points and five rebounds, to perform effectively against them throughout the game. Given these details, Green's clear lack of enthusiasm for the Sky's "brand of basketball" is understandable, and their showing in the anticipated matchup against the Fever made it difficult to counter the Warriors veteran's critical observations.
