Certain things simply return like clockwork every single year. Take, for example, Ugg boots. The second it gets cold outside, everyone whips out their plush-lined booties to ensure toes and feet stay warm in the frigid cold (just me? I didn’t think so). Come summer, Uggs are replaced with easy-to-wear sandals, with Hollywood moms, Hollywood cool-girls, and fashion editors alike gravitating toward strappy designs, specifically the Birkenstock Arizona that’s the unofficial ‘It’ shoes of the seasons. I own a pair, but based on what I spent on them, I don’t always want to wear them to death or in the sweaty heat—so, I found an alternative that looks very similar but costs a fifth of the price.
The Odoly cork footbed sandal on Amazon is my perfect, wear-anywhere shoe for a slew of reasons—and obviously the fact that it looks very similar to my all-time favorite German slip-ons doesn’t hurt, either. The slide has a comfy, two-strap design with adjustable buckles on top; the faux leather material is also water resistant, and while I wouldn't suggest wearing them in the pouring rain, at least you can have a little peace of mind knowing they won’t get totally ruined if you get caught in an unexpected rain shower.

Functional upper aside, these sandals also have a natural cork insole that provides cushioning and arch support. And frankly, come springtime, when I do lots of walking, I can’t be bothered with a flat sandal that has zero support. My feet are too precious! Last but not least, there’s also a non-slip outsole that keeps you feeling secure—whether you wear them indoors or outdoors.
On Amazon, the Odoly sandals average a 4.5-star ratings, which is pretty good IMO, with shoppers agreeing they’re comfortable, supportive, and well designed. Others note the sizing is spot on, which is always a plus, and that the versatile design is ideal for all spring and summer outfits.
One shopper wrote, “So soft and comfortable to wear…You certainly don’t have to worry about wearing them in or getting blisters,” while another reviewer who has “a lot of issues” with their feet can still wear these comfortably. Sounds like these are a win—and a steal at $22. Shop more colorways below to get your summer sandal game in check. Pedicure is not required, though highly recommended.
