The Who Announce North American Farewell Tour

The Who have announced "The Song Is Over," a farewell tour of the US and Canada, marking the end of their six-decade career. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, at 79 and 81 respectively, acknowledge the inevitability of ending their touring days. Longtime drummer Zak Starkey is expected to join them.

Roger Daltrey reminisced about the band's breakthrough in the US in 1967, emphasizing the impact of American audiences and the cultural differences that inspired him. He expressed gratitude for the support over the years. Pete Townshend reflected on the band's history with American and Canadian audiences since 1967, highlighting the connection and energy he felt. He paid tribute to the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle and expressed his continued enjoyment of playing music.

The tour, titled "The Song Is Over," is billed as the band’s final run through the United States and Canada. The tour kicks off on August 16 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, and concludes on September 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Tickets will be available through a Citi presale and the Who Fan Club starting May 13, with additional presales throughout the week. General sales begin on May 16 at 10:00 AM local time. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets from May 13-15 through the Citi Entertainment program. VIP packages will also be available, offering premium tickets, access to pre-show soundchecks, VIP lounges, and autographed posters.
