Marvel's The Sentry is hardly a new character to longtime comic book fans, but the character has just made its debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thunderbolts*. Played by Lewis Pullman, The Sentry could have a bigger future ahead.

Thunderbolts* is a team-up between multiple fan-favorite characters from the MCU, like franchise veteran Bucky Barnes/ The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), and several characters introduced in 2021's Black Widow. EXCLUSIVE: Thunderbolts* is a team-up of former villains from previous projects, but it also introduced Sentry to the MCU.

The character appeared for the first time in 2000 in The Sentry #1, and was created by Jenkins, with art by Jae Lee. Although his full name is Robert Reynolds, the character goes by Bob in Thunderbolts*. Sentry also has a supervillain alter ego, The Void, which posed a lot of issues already in Thunderbolts*. But that's hardly the extent of his power, the creator teases.

Fans can expect big things from Sentry/The Void in the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster.

The upcoming Phase Six will kick off this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but one of the two post-credits scenes in Thunderbolts* teased a connection with the upcoming film.

Although director Jake Schreier shied away from confirming that the antiheroes would be the first to meet Marvel's First Family in the upcoming movie, the post-credits scene showed the New Avengers in the Watchtower watching the Fantastic Four's arrival on their Earth. An insider with knowledge of production for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday told CBR that the second post-credits scene was directed by the Russo Brothers just three weeks before the film's premiere. Considering the Russo Brothers were involved in the scene, it also teased that Bob will have a bigger role in the future.

Thunderbolts* is playing out in theaters.
