Yamal with 2 assists in Copa del Rey final 

Unsurprisingly, this weekend's Copa del Rey final between El Clásico rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid was full of drama. Barca eventually came out victorious after winning 3-2 in extra-time, but the occasion was slightly soured by some unsavoury scenes at the end - three Real Madrid players were sent off in the dying moments, including defender Antonio Rüdiger who appeared to throw some ice towards the referee from the substitutes bench. However, on the field itself, once again it was teenage sensation Lamine Yamal who played a huge role in dragging Barcelona to victory. 

The 17-year-old prodigy assisted two of Barcelona's three goals and was unlucky not be on the scoresheet himself, denied by some top saves from Thibaut Courtois. He was a constant threat throughout the final. His brace of assists means the Spaniard now has 24 assists in all competitions for Barcelona this season. No other player for any top-five league club can lay claim to more. But who have been the other top playmakers in Europe's top divisions this term? As touched upon, Yamal leads the way with an incredible 24 assists in 48 games. He is followed in second by one of Liverpool's newly-crowned Premier League champions. Egyptian king Mohamed Salah has 23 assists in 48 matches for the Reds. Third goes to Yamal's team-mate Raphinha, who has 23 assists in 50 games for Barca. Fourth goes to Lyon talent Rayan Cherki - the young Frenchman is enjoying a stellar season and has 19 assists in 41 games. Bayern Munich's Michael Olise is fifth with 18 assists in 47 matches for the Bavarians.

In sixth position is Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes. Despite the Red Devils enduring a miserable campaign and languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League, their Portuguese playmaker has 18 assists in 51 matches. Seventh goes to PSG's Bradley Barcola, who has 17 assists in 51 games. Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush has 16 assists in 43 matches for Frankfurt and Manchester City this season, and takes eighth place. Despite only playing 31 games this term due to injury, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka takes ninth position with 14 assists in 31 matches. PSG full-back Achraf Hakimi completes the current top 10 with 14 assists in 43 games.
