Teaser For Osgood Perkins' 'Keeper' is Very Strange

It’s obvious that movie put him on the map as a serious horror film maker just by the amount of press he got. 

His next movie might be headed in that same hype-induced strategy. Remember how many movies memes we got on social media leading up to the film?

That same approach may be starting for Keeper with a very unusual teaser released by on YouTube today. 

The video isn’t a trailer and might not even be classified as a teaser, it’s just an endless loop of star scribbling something in a binder with a blank look on her face. It does inspire curiosity, but otherwise it’s just a placeholder. 

Perkins’ previous  film did exceptionally well in theaters and proved the filmmaker has a penchant for dark comedy; he does it well. 

Keeper looks like he’s going back to his creepier Longlegs days. The movie’s synopsis on IMDb is as vague as the YouTube video itself: “

If anything, the for the brevity in between films which shows how dedicated he is to the work and his fans.

Australian filmmaker Sean Byrne, acclaimed for The Loved Ones and The Devil’s Candy, returns to the horror genre with Dangerous Animals. The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into this chilling survival thriller, set to premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival .

The film follows Zephyr, a rebellious surfer portrayed by Hassie Harrison (Yellowstone), who is abducted by Tucker, a shark-obsessed serial killer played by Jai Courtney (The Suicide Squad). Held captive on his boat, Zephyr must devise an escape before becoming part of a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below . Josh Heuston (Dune: Prophecy) co-stars as Moses, Zephyr’s new love interest, who attempts to rescue her but also falls into the killer’s trap.

Dangerous Animals Official Trailer

Byrne, directing from Nick Lepard’s debut screenplay, aims to subvert traditional shark horror tropes. He describes the film as a emphasizing that the true predator may not be the creature lurking beneath the waves but the man above them .

Dangerous Animals is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on June 12th, 2025, through IFC Films, and will later be available for streaming on Shudder.
