TCU Basketball Loses Star Guard to Transfer Portal
On Saturday, the first player to hit the transfer portal from TCU surfaced, and that player is a big one.
On3’s Joe Tipton was the first to announce that TCU’s impressive guard has decided to go portaling following a successful sophomore season.
In 2024-25, Allette saw action in all 32 games, averaging 29.2 minutes per night. He posted 11.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game on 37.5% shooting from the field in his first year with the Horned Frogs.
Coming out of Thornlea Secondary School in the Class of 2023, Allette was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 191st-ranked player. He also checked in as the 21st-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in Ontario.
The transfer portal officially opens on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
