Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 vs Coldplay or both? Netizens react to Mumbaikar's busy Sunday

Published 2 months ago4 minute read

When one says the city of Mumbai never sleeps, January 2025 stood as the perfect example. As the new year rolled in, the bustling city came to life with a series of high-profile events, drawing lakhs of people from across the country and beyond. The city reached a new level of excitement on January 18, when Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium was jam-packed with fans attending the much-anticipated Coldplay concert.

However, the energy didn't wane for long, as the very next morning - even before sunrise - brought another iconic event—the TATA Mumbai Marathon 2025. As January 19 approached, the city was wide awake with thousands of runners and supporters gathering at various points to participate.

With Coldplay's mesmerizing music and the marathon's inspiring spirit of endurance, Mumbaikars once again proved they are always on their toes. However, netizens, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter), had a different take. While some were thrilled about experiencing both events, others couldn't help but pit the two against each other.

One fan of both wrote, "Imho real winners are those who have no work over the weekend, secured Coldplay tickets on the 18th, registered for the TATA marathon on the 19th, planned a mini friends reunion in Mumbai, and will return to work satisfied (with happy cramps) on the 20th."

Another shared, "Coldplay over? Now the same people will show up at #TMM2025 tomorrow morning. Every other youngie is a SM steroid-fueled FOMO-riddled bot."

A humorous observation read, "Either people in my feed are running the Mumbai marathon tomorrow or going to the Coldplay concert tomorrow. Nobody getting married or having a baby tomorrow. It's either this or that! Period!"

Meanwhile, a witty take noted, "Marry the person who wants to run the Mumbai marathon with you, not attend the Coldplay concert."

@coldplay @TataMumMarathon
I wouldn't mind if Chris Martin put up a small performance on his morning stroll near Marine Drive, cheering for the TMM runners tomorrow. Dakota Johnson is welcome to be his muse. #coldplayindia2025 #TMM2025

The UK band began the India leg of their "Music of the Spheres" tour with a breathtaking show at DY Patil Stadium on Saturday. The group has three performances scheduled in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21. Nearly 45,000 fans are expected to attend each event.

For fans unable to attend in person, Coldplay’s Ahmedabad concert on January 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium will be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar app and website.
