Tanzania's Ntorya-Madimba Pipeline Contract Awarded

Aminex, which is the oil and gas exploration and development company that is focused on Tanzania, has made an announcement that the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) has awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the construction of the gas pipeline from the Ntorya gas field to the Madimba gas processing plant. This Ntorya-Madimba Pipeline Contract has been awarded to China Petroleum Pipeline and China Petroleum Technology and Development Corporation.

More details regarding the EPC contract, signed today, will be announced as soon as received from the TPDC.

“We are pleased to receive confirmation of the award of the EPC contract for the construction of the Ntorya to Madimba Pipeline. This is a very big milestone, showing the commitment of the government of Tanzania to move forward with the project. Additionally, it follows the signing of a Gas Sales Agreement and the award of the Development Licence that locks the project in for 25 years. Furthermore, it entails the update of a Field Development Plan with upgraded production figures. This was all in the past 18 months.

The signing of the contract symbolizes the Tanzanian government’s conviction of Ntorya’s enormous value to Tanzania as a top gas resource that will be useful in the alleviation of energy poverty, boost industrial development and improve the lives of ordinary people.
