Sunyani, May 3, GNA – The Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, has initiated a peace accord to reconcile the three Gates of Boahen Korkor Lineage of the Sunyani Royal Family to strengthen traditional bond.
In that regard, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II met with the Akosua Dua Royal Gate, Amma Biani Royal Gate and Kwantwiwaa Royal Gate.
According to a statement issued by the office of the Paramount Chief and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, discussions at the meeting held on Thursday May 2, 2025, centered on peace building, reconciliation, and development.
“It was a crucial gathering for the stability and progress of the Traditional Area,” the statement indicated, saying the meeting discussed extensively the disputes within the Royal Family to foster peace and unity.
The statement quoted Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II highlighting the integral role of the royal family towards maintaining social cohesion and unity for the purpose of development, urging the youth of the royal household to refrain from unlawful activities and the abuse of hard drugs.
Instead, they must focus on their education, employable skills training, and productive ventures to build a better future for themselves and their families.
“The Omanhene called on family elders to monitor and guide the youth, ensuring that they stay on the right path,” the statement added.
