Stunning Newcastle United stats - Over 13 months! | OneFootball

Published 1 month ago2 minute read

I keep reading about the ‘abysmal’ Newcastle United away record until very recent times.

Looking back, how does the Newcastle United away record actually look over more than 13 months?

Does the reality match the nonsense spouted by journalists and pundits?

These past 28 NUFC away games (all competitions), thirteen months worth, with the 3-2 victory at Birmingham just the latest away victory.

Aston Villa 1 Newcastle 3

Blackburn 1 Newcastle 1 (NUFC won on penalties)

Bournemouth 1 Newcastle 1

Nottingham Forest 1 Newcastle 1 (NUFC win 4-3 on penalties)

Nottingham Forest 1 Newcastle 3

Man U 0 Newcastle United 2

Southampton 1 Newcastle 3

So these last six away games show six Newcastle United victories, scoring seventeen goals and conceding only four.

Can Eddie Howe and his players make it seven away wins in a row at Man City…?

Played 28 Won 17 Drawn 3 Lost 8

The idea that the Newcastle United away record has been abysmal in any kind of recent times (well over a year!), not exactly backed up by the reality.

Eddie Howe and his players have won 61% of away matches in these 13+ months!

Whilst only 28% the NUFC away games have been lost in this period of time!!

Willock 21, 82 Wilson 26

Laird 1, Iwata 40

(Half-time stats in brackets)

was Newcastle 63% (63%) Birmingham 37% (37%)

were Newcastle 16 (7) Birmingham 11 (6)

were Newcastle 9 (5) Birmingham 6 (5)
