Borson admitted Spurs are likely to finish below their forecasts for the campaign.
He told : "That money is probably likely to go towards working capital, so just the general running costs of the club.
"It could also maybe be for some payments on potential transfers towards the end of the window, relatively small payments of first instalments on transfers.
"But I don't think it signals any particular dramatic spend.
"I suspect that they are not particularly profitable at the moment.
"I haven't done a forecast for what this year looks like, but clearly it's hard to say the club is firing on all cylinders financially.
"Don't get me wrong, they do well and have got an enormous stadium, and they keep their wage bill under control.
"But they are clearly having some challenges on the field.
"If they look at their forecasts for this year, they are probably in line to finish a bit lower than they would have expected.
"But I think it's just a typical working capital injection."
