While 'awakening' is a personal journey of self-discovery, personal or spiritual growth can elevate 'collective consciousness'. What does it mean to be truly awake and spiritually aware? It essentially means an individual has embarked on the path of inner transformation, of spiritual evolution. Given the stressful times we live in, it is prudent to think about spiritual health and well-being, and to elevate the quality of life.

believes the change one experiences during the inner transformation phase is not theirs alone. "Awakening is never isolated. It impacts all those who come in contact with such individuals. Like ripples on water, the effects extend outward, touching families, society and even beyond."

This is perhaps the reason why so many people are drawn to enlightened spiritual leaders around the world. "They radiate wisdom, love, peace, bliss and joy. Not only do they positively impact those around, people are also inspired to embrace what they see and experience as they interact with those who are awakened," the spiritual leader says.

According to the expert, true personal growth is spiritual. "It involves becoming aware of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It is about transcending the body, mind and ego, and realising the purpose of life by becoming aware of reality. Awakening is about self-realisation and God-realisation. We realise we are not what we appear to be the body, mind and ego. We are the soul, a spark of unique life, which is a part of the supreme immortal power we call 'God'," he explains.

The expert adds that all of us are manifestations of God, and this awareness can lead to bliss, universal love, and meaningful living. When a person transcends the body, mind and ego, they let go of old hurt, grudges, toxic emotions and thoughts. They are able to break destructive patterns and live with peace and bliss. Ultimately, it inspires others, too.

Within the family, a truly spiritually-evolved person can de-escalate tense situations. Similarly, they tend to be leaders in the workplace -- leading by example and showing kindness and humility. They create a positive work environment with less stress. In classroom, when a teacher is rooted in spirituality, they can nurture goodness and kindness in students, encouraging harmony and cooperation, the happiness ambassador says.

He adds that when someone practises gratitude or forgiveness, it influences those around them. "Positive state of mind changes group dynamics and increases overall well-being."

In fact, when more individuals undergo inner transformation, societal values begin to change. "We become less materialistic, more tranquil, accepting, tolerant, loving, patient and fearless. Those who evolve spiritually see the interconnectedness of all life. They treat not only people with respect, but also extend it to nature and animals."

The expert says technology and global connectivity have given impetus to this process. "A single blog post, video, or act of kindness can inspire millions. A discourse on real happiness through spirituality can impact others."

The process is not easy. It requires discipline, commitment, and guidance from a spiritual master, along with the yearning to realise God. Awakening can involve facing truths, shedding illusions, confronting fears, and unlearning whatever we have learned.
