Troops under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralised two suspected bandits near the Nemaledu community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to the OPSH spokesperson, Major Samson Zhakom, the operation was based on credible intelligence regarding bandit movement in the area.
He said troops from the 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven laid an ambush near the criminals’ hideout and engaged them during the encounter.
“On 15 May 2025, based on a tip-off about the movement of bandits along Nemaledu village in Gimbi District, Wase LGA, troops ambushed the crossing point.
“They made contact with the criminals, resulting in the neutralisation of two bandits. A fabricated AK-47 rifle was recovered during the operation,” Major Zhakom said.
He emphasised the need for continued public cooperation, stressing that criminals would find no hiding place in OPSH’s Joint Operations Area.
“Our commitment to eradicating these miscreants remains unwavering. We will not hesitate to take decisive action against them,” he added.
