Sloane Stephens Shares Her 10 Self-Care Essentials

The cooling body scrub is Stephens’s favorite product from her line. “I love body scrubs. I love being scrubbed down in general, it’s my favorite thing and why I go to the Korean spa all the time, but I love exfoliants that are actually exfoliating. I feel like sometimes you get an exfoliant and it doesn't work, it’s soft. I really wanted to create something that was actually very exfoliating, and it’s interesting because my husband and my stepdad both love it. My stepdad uses it on his bald head and my husband uses it on his face, on his beard. I wanted it to be able to be used for a lot of different things.”

“I love sprays in general. That’s my thing. That’s why we have the deodorizing body mist in our line. I love sprays! I love having it in my purse, I love quick spritzes. The Tower 28 was ahead of its time, and it’s something that I always have with me. They have the little mini bottles. I travel with them. I think they’re super cute and super easy to use.”

When Stephens is competing, she doesn’t wear any makeup—just chapstick and sunscreen—but off the court, she always uses mascara. Specifically, this Hourglass formula: “Oh my god, the best mascara ever! I have a thing where when I put makeup on, and I put mascara on, it takes me literally four days to get it off. I literally can never get it off. I actually know the founder of Hourglass, and they were like, try this. So I tried it and it’s literally the best thing that ever happened to me. When it gets wet when you’re taking off in the shower, it just clumps up and goes off. It’s the best! You have to try it! It’s so good and so worth it.”
“The scrub and the lotion are a married combo, so that's why I launched them together—because after you exfoliate, you need something to really moisturize. So that’s where this product came in: To really lock in all the moisture. We did it fragrance free because in my family, all of my cousins and relatives, everyone has a skin condition, so fragrance always messes them up. We wanted to be cognizant of eczema and all of those things. We don’t want any flare ups! That’s why we landed on the fragrance free side of it. I’m very into fragrance free—I love my perfume, so I’d rather wear a really heavy perfume than a really heavy lotion.”

“I wear them literally all the time. I’ll wear them to practice. I’ll wear them at night before bed. It’s such a simple, easy self-care moment.”
“I’m not a makeup girl, but I was influenced by my friends because they all wear makeup and they’re like, ‘This is so easy. There are three blushes in here. You can mix them, you can do whatever you want, and it looks good on everyone.’ So I bought it and now it’s my blush that I put on when I’m trying to be an adult and going to meetings. It’s super easy and it’s cute! The color goes of everything.”

“Everywhere I go, people are always like, ‘Oh my God, what are you wearing?’ It’s such a memorable scent.”
“For regular recovery, I use the big boots every day that I do training. These ones, you don’t need the actual machine. You don’t need to plug them in. You can just put them on. They’re super good for travel, they sit in your carry on, it’s very easy and simple. It’s so good for leg recovery, blood circulation, all of that stuff. If you’re into that type of self-care, then that’s a good product.”

“I travel with this candle. I love scent, I love fragrance. It always reminds me of a place or a thing or where I was, who I was with. Everything in life is so sensory, and being able to always draw back to a time that made you feel good or something that makes you think of something positive or happy, that’s what Baies does to me. My mom always brings it out in the house, so it always reminds me of my mom.”
