POLICE arrested six men on suspicion of drug smuggling at Manchester Airport in a series of drug raids across the North West.

The National Crime Agency said the arrests were a part of 'a long-running investigation' into an incident which was in May 2024.

Today, Tuesday, they arrested three suspects at two properties in Bury, Greater Manchester; two suspects at two properties in Fazakerley, Liverpool; and one suspect at a property in Worsley, Greater Manchester.

The six men are aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s and the arrests are on suspicion of drug smuggling, specifically concerning cocaine.

The National Crime Agency said: "These arrests were a part of a long-running investigation. 

"The National Crime Agency works at home and abroad to fight the Class A drugs threat."
