Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday issued a passenger advisory, warning of potential disruptions to flight operations due to inclement weather conditions.According to the advisory, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted adverse weather beginning 15:15 IST, which could impact departures and arrivals at the airport.
“Our on-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure your journey remains hassle-free,” said the airport authorities in a public notice.
Passengers have been urged to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight schedules and updates.
The advisory comes amid seasonal weather fluctuations in the capital, which frequently lead to delays and diversions during the monsoon period.
Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and other parts of the National Capital Region on Tuesday experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms likely in the NCR.
The change in weather was seen after the IMD issued a red alert for Delhi and surrounding areas earlier today.
The top weather body forecasted thunderstorms accompanied by hail, moderate to heavy rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50 to 70 kmph at isolated locations over the next two hours.
