Sitaare Zameen Par collection Day 5: Aamir Khan’s new film surpasses Laal Singh Chaddha

Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s latest release Sitaare Zameen Par achieved a significant milestone within five days of its premiere. The film crossed the Rs 75 crore mark at the Indian box office within just five days. Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par also stars debut actors Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

According to data provided by Sacnilk.com, the film’s total domestic collection has reached Rs 75.15 crore, officially overtaking the lifetime earnings of Aamir’s previous release, Laal Singh Chaddha, which stood at Rs 61.36 crore.

Notably, the film has shown a steady performance as of now. Sitaare Zameen Par opened with Rs 10.7 crore and peaked over the weekend with a Sunday collection of Rs 27.25 crore. Although earnings dipped to Rs 8.50 crore on Monday (June 23) and remained the same on Tuesday (June 24), the overall performance has still been considered strong.

Sitaare Zameen Par sees Aamir portray a basketball coach who trains ten differently-abled individuals for a national-level tournament. Genelia D’Souza is featured as the actor’s on-screen wife in the film.

To express gratitude for the audience’s support, Aamir made a surprise appearance at a cinema after a screening. In a video released by the film’s makers, the actor was seen interacting warmly with fans and asking, “Kaesi lagi film?” One viewer replied, “Aamir, we are proud of you. You have done a superb job.” The moment was followed by the actor introducing the film’s director and crew, adding, “Thank you so much for the love you are giving us. We really appreciate and we are really touched.” On Tuesday (June 24), the film was screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan for President Droupadi Murmu.
