, 84, of Harmony, N.C., passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House following an extended illness. Shirley was born March 11, 1941, in Iredell County to the late Troy Tilley and Rosa Lee Hartness Tilley.

She attended Poplar Springs Church and worked as a CNA for over twenty years. She enjoyed talking with friends and family on the phone, drawing, flowers, joking around, and watching NASCAR with her son.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jessie” William Wilcox; one son, Tony Ransom Wilcox; and one brother, Herman Tilley.

Survivors include two sons, Timothy Wilcox and wife Crystal of Harmony, and Shane Wilcox and wife Penny of Harmony; two brothers, Ray Tilley and wife Elaine of Stony Point, and Ricky Tilley and wife Jessica of Statesville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Steve Newman will officiate. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Darrell Hartness, Dylan Moore, Travis Wilcox, TJ Wilcox, Grant Thompson, and Jake Cartner.
