Seven people lost their lives, and eleven others sustained injuries in a road accident in Niger State. The incident occurred when a truck carrying grains and 36 male passengers en route to Kano from Lagos crashed at the Essa community along the Agaie-Badegi road in Katcha Local Council.

The Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Arah, disclosed this in a statement issued in Minna. He said the accident happened yesterday, at about 3:00 a.m., attributing the cause to the poor condition of the road.

Arah revealed that the crash claimed seven lives and left 11 people with severe injuries, while five others sustained minor injuries. He added that the injured were taken to health centres in Badegi and Agaie for treatment, while others were assisted by their colleagues.

He further noted that the deceased were handed over to their relatives.
