Scottie Scheffler leads PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler demonstrated the significance of "Moving Day" during Saturday's third round of the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. With a round of 65, Scheffler took a three-stroke lead, positioning himself at 11-under for the tournament as he heads into Sunday's final round. His performance included a notable drive onto the 15th green, setting up an easy eagle putt, along with three birdies.

While Scheffler's 6-under round was impressive, Sweden’s Alex Norén secured his place in the final pairing on Sunday with Scheffler by posting a 5-under, placing him at 8-under. J.T. Poston and Davis Riley are tied for third at 7-under, while LIV Golf's Jon Rahm has regained his form, posting a 4-under on Saturday to reach 6-under for the tournament. Jhonattan Vegas, who led after two rounds due to a strong 7-under start on Thursday, is also at 6-under but faced setbacks with a 2-over performance on Saturday, marked by four bogeys and two birdies.

All attention will be on Scheffler as he aims to secure his first major title outside of The Masters. Despite being the world's number one golfer, with a green jacket and a FedEx Cup win in 2024, he has yet to win the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, or The Open Championship. Last year's PGA Championship at Valhalla began with Scheffler's arrest while entering the golf club, an incident that saw charges eventually dropped. Despite the ordeal, he managed to play, but the event underscores his quest for a major win beyond Augusta National Golf Club.

Scheffler is now in a position to change that narrative on Sunday.
