The governor also felicitated Olowo on the conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Baa Siro of Iruland” on him by the Oniru of Iruland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a congratulatory message he personally signed and issued yesterday, said Lagos was proud of Dr Olowo, the immediate past Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, noting that his commitment to fiscal transparency, digital transformation, and financial innovation had set new standards in public financial management.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media And Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor said: “On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, I extend my warmest congratulations to you on the occasion of your 40th birthday and the conferment of the prestigious Chieftaincy Title of ‘Baa Siro of Iruland’ by His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, the Oniru of Iruland.

“Today marks not only a milestone in your personal journey but also a moment of deep pride for all who have had the privilege of working alongside you.

“As former Commissioner for Finance during my first term, your commitment to fiscal transparency, digital transformation, and financial innovation set new standards in public financial management — not just in Lagos, but across the nation.

“Now at the helm of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, your continued leadership reflects the same excellence, vision, and discipline that have defined your service to our State and to Nigeria. It is no surprise that your community has chosen to honour you with a traditional title that speaks to your integrity, wisdom, and contributions to society.

“As you step into this new decade, may your path be marked by greater accomplishments, deeper impact, and continued grace. I pray that Almighty God will bless you with long life, sound health, and renewed wisdom as you continue to serve with distinction.”
