The redeployment, which came weeks ago, sparked speculation that the celebrated singer was being punished for participating in political chants during one of his performances.

Samidoh had been reassigned from the Central Region Police Headquarters to the ASTU, a unit known for operating in volatile, bandit-prone areas like Baringo.

During a past performance, Samidoh joined his audience in reciting the viral 'wantam' chant, a phrase used by critics of President William Ruto to push for his removal in 2027.

The move was allegedly perceived by his bosses at Jogoo House as a breach of the Service Standing Orders, which require officers to remain apolitical.

In what many interpreted as disciplinary action, Samidoh was ordered to report to Gilgil immediately.

The singer the reportedly deserted his post after extending his leave without notice, prompting authorities to issue an arrest warrant against him for insubordination.

Now, after briefly returning to Kenya before heading out again, Samidoh addressed the controversy during a candid interview with Kikuyu content creator Kururia.

When asked if he intended to report to Gilgil, Samidoh firmly stated that he was not resigning from the police force.

However, he revealed that he had yet to make a final decision on whether he would honour the redeployment orders.

"About me going to Baringo, I have taken a step back and I am now discussing with my family, my clan, and even the broader community to know how they feel about it. If they say that I should go, then I will go. If they say that I should not go, then I will not go because I work for them," Samidoh stated.
