Safiyya Vorajee reveals split from Ashley Cain was due to his heavy drinking after baby Azaylia's death
Safiyya Vorajee has claimed that she and Ashley Cain split as a result of him turning to alcohol following the death of their baby daughter Azaylia in April 2021.
Ashley, 33, and his ex-partner, Safiyya, 36, tragically lost their little girl when she was just eight months old after she battled acute myeloid leukemia, which caused tumours to grow on her lungs, stomach, and kidneys.
Three years after daughter Azaylia’s death Ashley Cain is to become a dad again

Safiyya said that although the pair struggled with their grief, he started to ‘drink quite a lot’, which led to their separation.
Speaking to Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast, she said that she ‘waited for him’ to navigate his grief, but it got to a point where she couldn’t anymore.
Safiyya said: ‘I was like lets ride through this together and he had his own protective armour around him and the feelings and pain he was in, he couldn’t navigate it.’
‘I kind of waited for him but he ended up drinking quite a lot and going down that road. I’m not someone who really drinks and I needed him but he needed to be by himself. There is no right and wrong with grief,’ she added.

Safiyya also revealed that she gave Ashley a 90-day trial period at the beginning of their relationship, where he had to take a step back from drinking.
She explained: ‘I said show me the man I want, I gave him the 90 day test. It was just slowing down the pace of going out and partying, so like go to work, get paid and come home because he used to party after.’
‘I was like show me but if you don’t want to, that is fine, but he passed the test with flying colours,’ she revealed.

However, at the beginning of 2024, Ashley surprised followers when he announced that he had become a father once again- this time to a baby boy called Aliyas Diamond, with an old friend of his. The new parents were not in a relationship but were happy to co-parent together.
Taking to social media, Ashley said ‘“Another One” **DJ Khaled Voice** My little girl will soon have another little brother to watch over, and my little boy will not only be a baby brother but a big brother too.

Soon after his son Aliyas was born in January, Ashley headed off on a mammoth fundraising task in Azaylia’s name as he became the first man to run, cycle and kayak nearly 3,000 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End back to back.
It took three months, and Ashley raised £200,000 for The Azaylia Foundation, supporting families of children with cancer.
