Mohbad, a former signee of Marley’s Marlian Music, under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023, sparking nationwide outrage and demands for justice.

The controversy deepened when footage surfaced showing Larry allegedly confronting Mohbad on a music video set with singer Zlatan.

Reports claimed the altercation stemmed from Mohbad’s fallout with Marley, Larry’s associate.

In October 2023, Larry and Marley were over allegations linking them to Mohbad’s death but were on bail after five weeks in detention.

By February 2025, a magistrate court them of any involvement in the singer’s demise.

In a recent interview with social media critic VeryDarkMan, Larry, born Balogun Eletu, denied ever “assaulting or threatening Mohbad,” insisting their dispute was purely financial.

He argued that the viral incident was “misrepresented” and that he had only confronted Mohbad for failing to perform at a paid event and demanded a refund.

“I did not threaten Mohbad with boys. I only went to the beach to buy something for my child. When I got there, I saw Mohbad and others shooting a video, so I approached them, and some of the beach boys followed me,” he said.

”When I reached where the video was being shot, I told Mohbad he would not leave if he didn’t pay the money he owed me. Zlatan held me back and told me I had passed that level, and that was how the matter ended.

“Nobody touched Mohbad. Zlatan is my witness because he was there. I only saw Mohbad twice in the year he died. The first time was in a club. Naira Marley and I were leaving the club while Mohbad was entering.

“Naira Marley did not see him because I was behind. I have never in my life touched Mohbad or attempted to beat him. The police invited me because of the petition Mohbad wrote, where he falsely accused me of damaging his camera and claimed that Elegushi sent boys to kill him.”
