Renee Rapp - Leave Me Alone - Music News | Music-News.com
One of the biggest ‘IT’ girls of the industry has returned with a new single and the track reveals a new era for Renee Rapp.
‘Leave Me Alone’ starts off forceful but with a steady control. As Renee sings ‘I’m a real bad girl / But a real good kisser’ we are plunged into an explosive, gritty guitar riff paired with the lyrics ‘Leave me alone bitch / I wanna have fun’.
The single was released hand in hand with a raunchy music video of blonde lookalikes who go from partying, messy antics to bloody brawls with pillows.
Throughout the track, Renee’s lyrics become more seductive but with this undeniable tongue in cheek playfulness that makes this track even more endearing for listeners. Cosmopolitan defined the lyrics as “winning the IDGAF war” which summarises the theme of this track perfectly.
I think overall the song is consistently good with each layer appearing thought out and well-constructed; there are any sections that need changing and I think this is one of Rapp’s strongest works yet.
It entices fans into what this next era could hold for Rapp and it definitely marks her as one to watch this year. She is loud, powerful and unapologetically, authentically her.
Alongside a brilliant single, Renee has announced a new album titled ‘Bite Me’ set to be released on 1st August.
The album encourages listeners to embrace every facet of their personality, the chaotic and the confident, and to be authentically, unapologetically themselves. It’s a raw, unfiltered, and vulnerable album about self-acceptance in its truest form, and like Rapp herself, creates a community for unfiltered self-expression.
