Raytheon won a $1 billion deal to procure and deliver a quantity up to 55 SM-3 Block IB All-Up Rounds that are manufactured, assembled, and tested in accordance with the SM-3 Block IB specifications. The work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona and Huntsville, Alabama with an expected completion date of March 31, 2031. The period of performance is from May 16, 2025, through March 31, 2031. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
Atlantic Diving Supply, ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics LLC, Culmen International LLC, Fairwinds Technologies LLC, S&K Aerospace LLC and SupplyCore LLC won a $5 billion firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract under solicitation SPRMM1-25-R-T001 for various integrated weapons systems equipment and services in support of Virginia-class submarines and active surface ships. This contract vehicle will expedite the procurement process for high-priority requirements, ensuring the timely delivery of essential resources to Virginia-class submarines and active Surface ships. This is a competitive acquisition with nine responses received. These are five-year base contracts with five one-year option periods. Locations of performance are inside and outside the continental US, with a March 30, 2029, performance completion date. Using customers are Navy, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Department, and federal civilian agencies. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2025 through 2029 Navy working capital funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

After US President Donald Trump announced a string of high-dollar defense agreements with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, there was relatively muted military-related news out of the United Arab Emirates. But at least one firm, RTX, came away with deeper ties to the small but rich federation. Trump announced Thursday that RTX had inked a memorandum of understanding with Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) to explore the production of gallium inside the latter’s facility in UAE.

Ukraine said Sunday that Russia had launched a record number of drones at the country overnight, targeting various regions, including that of the capital Kyiv, where a woman was killed. The attacks came two days after the first direct peace talks between officials from Russia and Ukraine in more than three years, which failed to produce a truce.
Asia-Pacific
Kazakhstan’s armed forces have unveiled the Taimas 8×8 next-generation wheeled infantry fighting vehicle to the public. The platform, seen at a military parade in Astana, was developed in trilateral cooperation with Turkey and China. The event was attended by representatives from Turkish tactical vehicle manufacturer Otokar and Beijing’s state-owned Norinco. Kazakhstan’s Taimas system is part of a program led by local industry partner Astana MPR to provide the country’s military with a modern ground combat capability.
