Portugal Fashion Confirms Dates and Announces Strategic Repositioning

Portugal Fashion is set to make a significant return to face-to-face events at the beginning of July, with the organization confirming shows from July 1 to 5. The Tram Museum in Porto will serve as the central hub, but events will extend to other cities, marking a strategic repositioning of the fashion week. This edition aims to be more than just a calendar of fashion shows; it proposes an immersive and decentralized experience under the name 'Portugal Fashion Experience', integrating fashion, lifestyle, and technology to highlight Portugal as a global fashion hub.

The event’s strategy emphasizes territorial decentralization, with Porto as the main stage and additional events in locations such as Douro, Famalicão, Matosinhos, and Gondomar. This approach reinforces fashion's vital role in enhancing tourist, industrial, and cultural assets across the region. Mónica Neto, the director of Portugal Fashion, articulated that this edition is a commitment to the future, aiming to be an 'engine of transformation for Portuguese fashion' by linking designers, industry, and territory with a vision of innovation and sustainability. The overarching motto for the Portugal Fashion Experience is 'Fashion, Lifestyle & Innovation', designed to bridge the creative sector with industry, the entrepreneurial community, and the broader territory, with a strong focus on promoting emerging talent, authorial creativity, digitalization, and sustainability as key pillars for internationalization.

The presentation of new collections at Portugal Fashion Experience 2025 will feature a distinguished line-up of designers including Miguel Vieira, David Catalán, Pé de Chumbo, Davii, Estelita Mendonça, Hugo Costa, Maria Gambina, Susana Bettencourt, Nopin, and Achor. Unique presentations are also planned, with the Marques'Almeida duo opting for a showcase in the Douro, and Ernest W. Baker making an exclusive presentation. Parallel initiatives include the 2025 edition of the BLOOM PWD by Salsa Jeans competition, where finalists will be presented at the former Vasco da Gama canning factory in Matosinhos. Additionally, the inaugural BLOOM Incubator program will offer robust support to emerging brands, providing logistical assistance, specialized mentoring, creative residencies, partnerships with the textile industry, and opportunities for national and international exposure to 10 selected designers.

Further enriching the event, the Portugal Fashion Summit will serve as a vital forum for reflection and sharing, bringing together designers, investors, journalists, brands, and startups. The municipality of Gondomar will host special segments, combining the tradition of jewelry know-how with innovation through a fashion show, brand activation, and an experiential lunch that also explores collaborations with international brands, bridging the fashion and interior design industries.

International collaboration remains a cornerstone of Portugal Fashion. Following previous editions, the event will again host 10 African designers as part of the CANEX platform. In a significant move to bolster its international standing and foster cultural and creative exchange, Portugal Fashion will, for the first time, welcome three designers from Saudi Arabia. Moreover, an international itinerary for Portuguese designers has been defined, commencing on June 23 in Milan with shows by David Catalán and Miguel Vieira, and continuing to Paris on June 24, where Ernest W. Baker will present his collection. All rights reserved to FashionNetwork.com, © 2025.
