Hawkes Bay Hawks (NBL) inked 30-year old American 196cm guard Brandon Alston (college: Georgia Tech). Alston moved there from Esgueira/Aveiro/OLI in Portuguese Liga Betclic. In 19 games he recorded 14.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.3apg last season. The last season he played at Parnu Sadam in Estonian KML where in 13 games he averaged 6.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.1apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Alston also played 5 games in Lat-Est BL where he had 6.8ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.8apg. The other team he played shortly was Tbilisi State Medical University in Georgian A League. In 5 games he got impressive 18.0ppg, 4.6rpg and 2.8apg.
He is a very experienced player. Alston has played also professionally in Finland (Korihait and Karhubasket), Germany (Ehingen/Urspringschule), Romania (Miercurea Ciuc), Czech Republic (Decin, Usti n/Labem and Kolin) and Georgia (Batumi).
He played in the final of Patriot League Tournament in 2017.
Alston graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2019 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball. He played also for Lehigh University for 3 years.
