The Police have said the man who breached security protocol during commissioning of projects by President Bola Tinubu at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna on Thursday is a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC suffering from “psychiatric disorders”.

The spokesperson for Kaduna Police Command DSP Mansir Hassan, identified the man as Umar Mohammed, a native of Anguwan Muazu in Kaduna in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, Mohammed was screened and admitted into the stadium as a supporter of All Progressives Congress (APC)

He added that he was putting on campaign T-shirt of APC and carrying banners bearing the images of the President and Governor Uba Sani, hence, like every other supporter, he was admitted into the stadium.

However, the police said out of excitement, Mohammed breached the protocol and jumped into the restricted arena to catch a closer look at the President.

However, The police said the fellow was immediately blocked and arrested by the security team and thoroughly searched with no incriminating item found on him.

Hassan quoted Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad as warning mischief makers and members of the public to refrain from spreading falsehoods or politicising the incident.

The commissioner of Police was also quoted as promising that the matter would be further investigated.
