Accra, May 17, GNA – The Ghana Police Service on May 12, 2025, at about 0830 hours, received a lone fugitive robber who had been on the Police wanted list since 2022 from the Togolese Police Force (TPF).

Suspect Adinda Akpo Abdul Mugibo was arrested on January 30, 2023 and was going through formalities until his transfer to Ghana was approved on May 12.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in a press brief, said Mugibo, whose activities were captured on CCTV, targeted elite residential areas within Accra, where he robbed individuals.

These include Ridge, Tesano, East Legon, Airport Residential Area and Adjirigano.

The suspect, also known as Rashid Bawa, Maxwell, Papa Rich or Dawa, having both Ghanaian and Togolese identifications, was arrested by a joint operation of the TPF, Interpol and officers of the Ghana Police Service in Lome-Togo.

DCOP Donkor said on October 3, 2023, his acts on CCTV were published on Facebook to declare he was wanted.

Mugibo’s crime spanned between 2022 and 2024 and his accomplice, Alidu Mazok, was arrested and remanded by the Adabraka District Court on September 4, 2024, she said.

Mugibo, however, managed to evade arrest, went into hiding within Togo, Ivory Coast and Nigeria when the court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

The CID team, led by DCOP Donkor, and Ghana Air Force after necessary formalities brought the suspect to Ghana.

She said efforts were in place to get the others on the run.

“We know where you are, we are coming for you,” the CID Boss said.
