Abuja, Nigeria – In a series of coordinated operations, the Nigeria Police Force has successfully neutralized five armed bandits in Katsina State, recovered operational motorcycles, and rescued a kidnapped university student in Kebbi State. Dutsen Wori Ambush: Five Bandits Neutralized
On April 10th, 2025, at approximately 4:15 AM, a joint security team, spearheaded by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, executed a strategic ambush along a suspected bandit route in Dutsen Wori village, Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State. The operation resulted in the neutralization of five armed bandits and the recovery of seven operational motorcycles used by the criminals in their activities, according to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Danmusa LGA Operation: Informants Apprehended
In a separate operation on the same day, around 7:00 AM, the joint security team, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted suspected armed bandits in the Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo villages, Danmusa Local Government Area. A fierce gun battle ensued, leading to the dislodging of the bandits' hideout. The operation led to the apprehension of three suspected informants who were providing critical information and logistical support to the bandits. Authorities also recovered two operational motorcycles and two bicycles during the operation, further disrupting the bandits' network.
Kebbi State: University Student Rescued
In Kebbi State, operatives of the Kebbi State Police Command achieved a significant breakthrough by successfully rescuing Augustine Madubiya, a 23-year-old student from the Department of Economics at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK). Madubiya was kidnapped on April 8, 2025, at Unguwar Jeji, Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The rescue operation, conducted on April 10, 2025, involved a combined team of police officers and local vigilantes, who raided the Dakingari forest. Upon sighting the approaching security team, the kidnappers fled, allowing the safe rescue of the victim. Augustine Madubiya was found unhurt and is currently receiving medical treatment at a local facility before being reunited with his family.
