Police dash cam shows burglary suspect plowing into semi truck during pursuit in Washington
Police shared dash cam video of a vehicle pursuit in Washington State that ended with the suspect striking a semi truck and then fleeing the scene on foot.
The video was captured on June 1, 2025, in Klickitat County, Washington.
Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Deputy Neher attempted to stop a motorist for speeding on Highway 97. The driver refused to pull over and a pursuit was initiated.
“Shortly after the pursuit initiated dispatch received a report of a burglary that had happened earlier. Deputy Neher continued with the pursuit and the vehicle ended up going off the road and then colliding with a semi truck traveling in the same direction. The suspect vehicle was damaged and eventually came to a stop off the roadway with the suspect running from the scene. Deputy Neher went to check on the driver of the semi truck while other law enforcement were arriving,” KCSO said.
Multiple agencies responded but the driver evaded capture by police.
Police later learned that the suspect vehicle had been reported stolen out of Yakima County and items from the burglary that occurred earlier in Klickitat County were recovered inside the vehicle.
Assisting agencies include the Washington State Patrol, Washington State Parks, Goldendale Police, Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and the Klickitat County Department of Emergency Management.
The case remains under investigation.
