The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked FiberXers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. FiberXers edged 3rd ranked Beermen in Manila

Strangely SM Beermen outrebounded FiberXers 54-39 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Schonny Winston (193-1998) scored 25 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Justine Arana (201-1999) chipped in 21 points during the contest. At the losing side center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 23 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. SM Beermen at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
Leading Warriors (8-3) recorded its third loss in Makati City. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked North Port (2-9) 113-108. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Warriors. Power forward Cade Flores (196-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Calvin Abueva supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Robbie Herndon (191-1993, college: SF State) did not help to save the game for NLEX RW. North Port maintains tenth position with 2-9 record, which they share with Blackwater. NLEX RW at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manila: Kings (#4) and Painters (#6). Painters were smashed at home by 18 points 80-98 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Stephen Holt fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Leonard Santillan produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. Ginebra Kings (8-3) keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Painters keeps the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Meralco Bolts and TNT Tropang.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 10: Blackwater lost to Phoenix on the opponent's court 109-124. TNT Tropang unfortunately lost to Hotshots in a home game 83-88. SM Beermen rolled over North Port on the road 126-91.
