Kristoffer Ian De Leon, another of Aunor's children, also shared his grief on Facebook, describing his mother as the "heart of our family." He wrote, "With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Nora C. Villamayor 'Nora Aunor' who left us on today April 16, 2025 at the age of 71. She was the heart of our family — a source of unconditional love, strength, and warmth. Her kindness, wisdom, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever."

Born Nora Cabaltera Villamayor on May 21, 1953, Aunor's career began in the 1960s as a successful singer, captivating audiences with her powerful voice before transitioning into acting. Her breakthrough role came in the 1967 film 'All Over the World,' which launched her into stardom. Over the next several decades, she appeared in over 200 films, solidifying her status as one of the Philippines' most prolific and respected actresses. Notable films include 'Andrea, Paano ba ang Maging Isang Ina?', 'Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos' (Three Years Without God), 'Bulaklak sa City Jail' (Flowers of the City Jail), and 'The Flor Contemplacion Story'.

In 2022, Aunor's immense contribution to Philippine arts and culture was officially recognized when she was named a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, the highest honor bestowed upon actors in the country.
